The Manor

Project Details

“The Manor” is a large “Monticello” (neo-classical) style home for a young active family with twin teenagers and three fur babies. They were referred to Janus by their good friend (a retired designer) who knew Janus’ work. The homeowners love classic traditional style but needed a major renovation and wanted their home to have a more current feel to reflect their entertainment style that includes hosting large formal fundraisers to smaller casual pool parties and everything in between.

The structure was taken to the studs: walls were moved to open the family room, mechanical equipment upgraded, an elevator was added along with custom wood and tile floors installed. The walls and ceilings were hand-painted with specialized finishes. The Gracie wallpaper in the dining room was personally designed for the family. Custom cabinets were built and unique furniture was handcrafted. Antique treasures were restored, refreshed, and installed. Detailed attention was given to every selection from fixtures, fabrics, and furnishings all to reflect the families’ style while creating a perfect background to showcase their extensive art collection.

The client easily embraced the best and the highest quality each step of the way, noting often “the investment was well worth it because they wake up with a smile on their face”.
