Celebrating another year of ThanksGIVING

It’s that time of year again! The holidays are finally upon us. The season where we are joined by our loved ones to break bread and escape the chaos and stress that daily life may bring. The moments we have with friends and family are precious and irreplaceable. The word community and fellowship come to mind when I think of this busy season. It is the time of year that symbolizes coming together and opening our hearts and homes. The table represents and embodies the sense of togetherness and welcoming our differences. In the spirit of communion, my design tips this month focus on tablescape inspiration for the holidays.

Celebrating the season of ThanksGIVING! Sometimes we can get caught up in the busy nature that the holidays may bring. Taking a moment to remember that the true meaning of this season encompasses gratitude and giving. There are so many who do not have the luxury of owning basic household items, many are without homes and even clothing. In the essence of gifting those in need, you will not only renew your appreciation for what you choose to keep, but also create a sense of community by sharing with others.

The holidays are the busiest time of year for many. Decorating may seem like a daunting task and sometimes all we need is a little encouragement and inspiration to enjoy the holidays and remain stress free during this process.

Remember LESS IS MORE!

This can be as simple as creating a space for your friends and family to enjoy one another’s company with a clean and simplistic place setting. Focus on the idea that less alleviates stress! The incorporation of clean, white linens with a touch of color can be a perfect example. I love using natural elements like rosemary and twine, for instance, to crown a napkin or adding a hand written name card to add a personal touch.

For more of a natural look, you can pull together natural elements to create a warm and inviting tablescape. The use of different materials such as pine cones, leaves or even antlers to add the final touches to your rustic place setting.

Don’t be afraid to jazz up your table. This can be made simple by adding unexpected touches of gold and bright pops of color that bring vibrancy and fun to the traditional setting.

In the season of giving and celebrating one another, remembering to take a moment from the blur the holidays bring and focusing on all the things we have to be thankful for is so important. Opening your doors to your loved ones doesn’t mean your home has to be perfect, but I can help get it close to perfect! It is amazing to how many priceless moments are created breaking bread with the ones you love.

Enjoy!
